New: Simulcast Country Breakdown & Flexible YouTube Modeling
YouTube is increasingly central to podcasting, but its audiences often look quite different from traditional RSS downloads. This week, we’re rolling out two updates that bring more transparency and flexibility to how simulcast performance is measured.
Together, these updates give you sharper visibility into YouTube’s impact, whether you’re an advertiser planning global campaigns or a publisher pitching smarter with audience data.
1. Country Location of Simulcast Channels
For YouTube simulcast shows, we now display a country breakdown of the YouTube channel’s subscribers right on the show page. Since YouTube videos can often have more of an international audience than a show’s RSS feed, this geo-breakdown is crucial to see before launching a campaign.
How to get there: Show Page > Audience Tab > From Social
Why it matters:
Tailor a campaign to products and/or services most relevant to the audience’s location, as well as establishing a fair price for the views
As an advertiser, spot opportunities in emerging marketing and plan better for campaigns with international goals
As a publisher, use the latest audience info for your shows to craft smarter pitches

2. Updated YouTube Modeling & Custom Coefficients
Our YouTube modeling just got more flexible.
Now that you have a better idea of where your audience is located, it may be worth revisiting your YouTube modeling assumption directly in your Overview > Attribution Settings. You can adjust the value of a YouTube view compared to an audio-only impression, on simulcast campaigns.
Why it matters: Greater flexibility can provide increased confidence in simulcast modeled results.
Podscribe’s default weighting of YouTube views relative to RSS downloads is still 1, but we have been revisiting this assumption, based on some interesting data we’ve found on YouTube views vs audio-only RSS downloads
